Over the coming weeks and months, ACEC-SK will be working closely with Priority Saskatchewan to introduce and roll-out some of their Best Value Procurement processes.

Currently, government staff is undergoing training to gain an appreciation of, among other things, the selection criteria that must necessarily be considered when procuring for best value.  Industry will be providing feedback to assist with tweaking this exercise.

The next step will be to train industry (vendor) companies about the best value procurement processes government entities will now be following.  It is important that industry companies also receive training to ensure both sides of the procurement equation (proponents and clients) have the same expectations.  In theory this should reduce the number of misunderstandings and streamline all future procurement processes as government procurement professionals begin to standardize this very critical aspect that directly influences successful project delivery.
