Session will include the proposed evaluation process, including a demo of how to enter data about those performing key roles in your organization.

Background: In late 2019/early 2020 McNair Business Development Inc was engaged by the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure (MHI) to facilitate the evolution of the best value procurement model for consultants.  They worked collaboratively with ACEC-SK, as well as MHI and Single Procurement Services (SPS) staff to facilitate a process similar to how they worked with MHI and the SHCA for the best value procurement model for contractors a couple of years ago.

This process was then handed over to MHI’s Special Projects Office to bring this process to a conclusion.  ACEC-SK has communicated with its Transportation sector members to solicit their feedback/endorsement about many of the specifics.  Essentially, MHI is driving towards a more streamlined process that it feels reduces the subjectivity element in the award process as well as streamlines it to get projects moving more quickly.

The volume of work that resulted from MHI’s stimulus package has slowed down these consultations somewhat, as well as the writ dropping.  However, ACEC-SK remains committed to providing input into a more objective process that should better support the Best Value Procurement for Professional Services.
