Lindsay Ruel, P.Eng

Topic : The Importance of Site Work to Technical Development

Lindsay Ruel is an electrical engineer with 20 years of consulting experience and is the Electrical Department Head for Saskatchewan at KGS Group. She has worked primarily in the heavy industrial sector, particularly in mining, and has worked on numerous potash, uranium, and diamond projects in several provinces throughout her career. Lindsay has been part of pre-feasibility study, feasibility study, and detailed engineering design teams, and has also spent time on client sites as part of construction coordination and commissioning teams.

Lindsay is an advocate for women in engineering and has funded an annual award for a female 4th year engineering student at the University of Saskatchewan for the last 12 years. She has also spoken or been a panelist at various conferences, including the IEEE Illumination Conference, the National Conference on Women in Engineering (NCWIE), and the Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology (CCWESTT) Conference.

In her free time, Lindsay teaches indoor cycling classes at the City of Saskatoon’s leisure centres, and enjoys golfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and traveling with her husband, Gerald.

Olagoke Rufai, P.Eng., M.Eng., is a Project Manager at AECOM Canada ULC. and President of the Regina Engineering Society, representing over 3,500 engineers. A past Chair of the ACEC-SK Future Leaders Group and an alumnus of the University of Regina and the University of Toronto, Olagoke has built a career at the intersection of technical excellence, mentorship, and community leadership.

His work delivering sustainable infrastructure projects across Saskatchewan reflects his belief that great leadership combines innovation, collaboration, and service to others.

Jason Horner is the President and CEO of the Acadia Group of Companies, headquartered in Saskatoon, SK. With more than 25 years of experience in civil engineering, construction, and business management, he has led diverse teams and delivered complex infrastructure and industrial projects across Saskatchewan. A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan’s Civil Engineering program, Jason is a registered Professional Engineer and has built his career through progressive roles spanning site engineering, engineering design, project management, and executive leadership. He has also enhanced his leadership through programs such as the Ivey School of Business QuantumShift, BDC’s Growth Driver, and active involvement with Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) Saskatoon.

Kerri Walker has close to 20 years of experience in the Environmental Consulting and Analytical Laboratory fields. She manages a busy environmental consulting team that spans across Saskatchewan while supporting projects from a technical aspect across western Canada. She has 3 kids under the age of 10 and has lots of experience building a family while navigating the consulting and management field. Kerri has spent the past 9 years of her career building and growing environmental consulting teams and professionals and enjoys working with them to strive to meet their full potentials.
