This session will highlight the most common issues identified during City of Regina Building Standards & Inspections plan reviews. Using real-world examples, the presentation will focus on areas where clarification, coordination, or documentation can help streamline reviews and reduce revisions. The goal is to improve consistency, efficiency, and collaboration between designers and reviewers.
Focus Areas May Include:
- Continuity of fire separations
- Building classification and code analysis for interior fit-ups
- Fire-resistance ratings of load-bearing elements
- Spatial separation calculations and opening limits
- Coordination of fire/smoke dampers and fire doors
- Accessibility and barrier-free design details
