Purpose
Committees are the backbone of our association. ACEC-SK would not achieve the success it does without the efforts of its over 250 committed volunteers.
ACEC-SK members represent a broad spectrum of sector technical and business knowledge. Committees engage members to:
- dialogue directly with partners and stakeholders,
- advocate,
- develop new skills,
- learn from each other through networking activities, and
- directly support ACEC-SK in building profile for the industry.

Buildings
- Proactively identify and address challenges specific to building design to understand the nuanced issues and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve them effectively;
- Advocate for the needs and perspectives of members in the Northern Saskatchewan region to ensure equitable consideration in industry discussions and decision-making processes;
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the committee’s advocacy efforts contribute to positive outcomes for the industry in the region

Environment Water Resources
- Proactively advocate for industry interests by engaging with stakeholders such as the Water Security Agency, Sask Water, and the Ministry of Environment;
- Establish connections to broaden advocacy efforts across multiple municipalities;
- Regularly convene meetings with stakeholders to champion collaborative efforts on regulatory changes and ongoing projects, ensuring the committee’s voice contributes to impactful decision-making; and
- Promote the sharing of information regarding work opportunities in the sector to align efforts with emerging industry needs.

Industry / Resources
- Champion the interests of local engineering and consulting firms by actively advocating for their inclusion in major projects, engaging with stakeholders to showcase the capabilities and expertise of local businesses;
- Develop and execute industry awareness initiatives to educate members about upcoming projects, industry trends, and opportunities; and
- Collaborate with industry partners to address common challenges related to private sector engagement and amplify the impact of both organizations in promoting local industry participation.

Transportation
- Serve as an advocate for members in the transportation sector, actively engaging with relevant governmental agencies and monitoring legislative developments and regulatory changes to provide timely input and feedback;
- Collaborate with policymakers and regulatory bodies to shape policies that align with the interests and needs of members, while also advocating for solutions that benefit the industry; and
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders to advance shared interests and goals, effectively fostering collaboration and information exchange.

ACEC-SK Member Services Committees

Awards
- Establish clear criteria and guidelines for assessing award submissions across various categories, ensuring consistency and impartiality;
- Appoint judges to the Brian Eckel Awards panel, with an emphasis placed on striving to achieve a balanced cross-section of industry professionals to enhance credibility and foster a comprehensive evaluation process;
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and implement measures to prevent conflicts of interest, safeguarding the integrity of the awards program;
- Foster a culture of excellence within the organization by promoting awareness of the awards program and its significance; and
- Adjudicate all award nominations, with the exception of the Brian Eckel awards, which are to be adjudicated by an independent panel.

Careers in Consulting
- Develop and implement strategies that actively promote careers in the consulting engineering industry, advocating for the recognition and appreciation of the contributions made by consultants in the industry;
- Establish initiatives that showcase the achievements, innovations, and profiles of consultants currently working in the industry; and
- Develop and manage mentorship programs that connect experienced consultants with new entrants to facilitate knowledge transfer and skill development.

Women in Consulting
- Develop and implement initiatives that promote inclusivity within the consulting engineering industry, while advocating for equal opportunities, fair treatment, and representation for women in the industry;
- Collaborate with external partners to promote diversity in consulting engineering and a commitment to gender inclusivity; and
- Provide opportunities for women in the industry to connect, share experiences, and build supportive professional relationships

Future Leaders Group
- Establish and maintain an effective internal leadership structure, defining roles, responsibilities, and succession plans to ensure continuity;
- Develop events/initiatives tailored towards the career development, mentorship, and networking of young professionals, providing resources and opportunities that facilitate the leadership journey of future leaders;
- Engage and collaborate with stakeholders, industry experts, and partners to promote the value that young professionals can accomplish through the consulting engineering industry;
