This document, entitled Guidelines for Selecting Your Professional Engineering Services Team, has been written to assist clients who own physical assets find the right professional engineer or geoscientist for their needs. It offers a set of detailed guidelines that will benefit all clients, from those who regularly procure engineering services, to those that have never secured the services of a consulting engineer before. The federal government, National Research Council and Federation of Canadian Municipalities created a national guide on best practices for sustainable municipal infrastructure. While the focus of the study was on municipal practices, it serves as a template for procuring consulting engineering professional services.
