January 3, 1927 - September 13, 2017

A memorial service honouring Dr. John (Jack) Douglas Ashton Mollard, founder of J. D. Mollard and Associates and one of the seven founding members of
ACEC-SK was held Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Jack was well known to the local, national and international engineering and geoscience community, and his achievements and contributions in the fields of engineering, geoscience, teaching, writing and consulting are truly remarkable.  The industry, governments and peers acknowledged his lifelong accomplishments with numerous awards and presentations, including the 2012 ACEC-SK Lieutenant Governor Meritorious Award.

A visionary, Mollard recognized the benefits of initiating a professional consulting association in the province.   J.D. Mallard and Associates along with 6 other provincial consulting engineering firms received their Society Charter ACEC-SK August 18 1976.  On October 22, 1976 the association held its first meeting.

The association endured the ups and downs of the industry as did its members.  Perseverance and commitment to the original vision of the founders ensured that 41 years later the current members will continue their legacy.
