The 2015 Association of Consulting Engineering Companies - Saskatchewan (ACEC-SK) Young Professional Award recipient is Chelsey Bartlett, P.Eng.

Raised in Regina Beach, SK and a Lumsden High School graduate, Chelsey received her B. Sc. in Biological Engineering in 2011 from the University of Saskatchewan. While attending university she completed a 16 months internship with the City of Saskatoon’s Environmental Services Branch. Following graduation, this Geo-Environmental Professional Engineer was recruited by Golder Associates Ltd.

She worked on over 20 client mining, land development and environmental projects in the past 4 years, building her experience across a number of industries and engineering services. One of these projects was the K+S Legacy Project (formerly Potash One), Saskatchewan’s first greenfield potash mine to be granted approval under the current Environmental Assessment Act. Chelsey’s contribution to these projects was extensive, made all the more impressive by her completion of 10 industry-related courses during this time.

Chelsey is current Chair of the ACEC-SK Young Professionals Group (YPG) and the YPG Liaison on the Association’s Board of Directors. She has also been a volunteer for Engineers Without Borders since 2007, taking on the roles of Director, VP External Affairs, and Member Learning. She now contributes as an industry liaison between the student chapter and the professional community.  An organizing volunteer of the Saskatoon Dragon Boat races in support of the Heart & Stroke Foundation, she also contributes to the Golder Trust for Orphans, Humanitarian Coalition, Saskatoon Interval House and Saskatoon’s Lighthouse Supported Living Inc.

Chelsey is deeply invested in her career and her home community of Saskatoon.  If time permits, she admits to being easily enticed to listen to a local band, see an art show or volunteer her time for events in the city.   Both she and her husband are avid scuba divers and love travelling.
